At T-10 Construction, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting one another. One such story that deeply moved us is that of Jamaya’s roof. Jamaya Creighton is a remarkable woman whose life took an unexpected turn five years ago.
Jamaya's Story
Jamaya’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. After losing her mother, she took on the responsibility of caring for her two younger siblings, both of whom, are autistic, alongside raising her own child. Balancing these immense responsibilities, Jamaya has been working tirelessly to make ends meet and ensure her family’s well-being.
ACV Insurance Policies
This past winter, during a routine inspection, T-10 Construction’s sales rep discovered significant damage to Jamaya’s roof. This news added yet another burden added to her already overwhelming to-do list.
Although we were able to get her roof partially covered by insurance, her Actual Cash Value policy—which limits coverage as a roof ages—left a significant portion of the cost uncovered. Unfortunately, this type of policy is common, and many homeowners are unaware of its limitations until they face a similar situation. Despite exploring various avenues such as financing and personal loans, Jamaya found herself losing hope of securing the necessary funds to repair her roof. Witnessing her dedication and the sacrifices she made for her family, we at T-10 Construction felt compelled to step in and go the extra mile for her.
Structural & Community Achievements
“It was very emotional for me because this was going to be something that affects my whole life forever,” Jamaya shared with us.
Determined to help, we rallied our resources and, on May 8th, replaced Jamaya’s roof, restoring it to a state better than new. Indeed, completing this project was not just a structural achievement but a testament to the power of community and compassion. Naturally, it was a day of celebration for everyone involved, and a significant milestone for Jamaya and her family.
